Celebrating 100 years of great Chiefs
On May 18th, 1920 one of the Coast Guard's finest traditions was created. Rooted in humility and fortitude, the United States Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer was born. Since that time, the Chief's Mess has stood the watch, shaping and securing the Coast Guard. Guided by service to others and a sense of responsibility to always do the right thing, Chiefs have been leading the way for the past 100 years.

During the past century some truly remarkable individuals have donned the Anchor. We pay tribute to a select few, recognizing that they are but one link in the long chain that will continue to be forged.

Thank you, Chiefs and happy 100!
